The Challenge
A growing clinic with a website that could not keep up
Genesis Behavioral Health is a growing outpatient mental health clinic network serving patients across multiple locations. Real clinicians. Specialized treatments like TMS. A mission to make behavioral health accessible for the people who need it.
But in 2021, the clinic had a problem most healthcare organizations know well. Patient demand was there. The website was not converting it.
The site generated only 300 leads for the year. Just 7 of those leads were for TMS, the clinic’s specialized treatment offering. The brand did not resonate. The digital presence did not match the caliber of care. Patients who needed help were bouncing off the site before ever reaching a booking form.
For a mental health clinic, this is not just a marketing problem. It is a patient access problem. Every friction point in the digital experience is a person who needed care and did not get it.
What we built: A patient acquisition system
Genesis did not need a new logo. They needed a system that turned website visitors into scheduled patients. So we built one.
Website Redesign
- A full rebuild focused on the patient journey.
- Modernized visual identity that communicated warmth and clinical credibility.
- Information architecture organized around how patients actually search.
- Persistent "Call" and "Request Appointment" actions across every page.
- Mobile-first build.
- "Take the TMS Quiz" that moved visitors from curiosity to consult.
Lead Engine
- The infrastructure that captures interest and routes it correctly.
- GA4 and UTM tracking on phone taps, form submits, and thank-you page views so lead drop-offs became visible instead of invisible.
- Conversion paths simplified.
- Mobile form fields reduced.
- Inline scheduling embedded where it mattered most.
CRM Implementation
- HubSpot deployed with source mapping so every lead was tied to how it arrived.
- Confirmations spelled out next steps and linked to the Patient Portal for telehealth and intake forms, cutting back-and-forth and speeding first appointments.
- Follow-up cadences standardized so fewer leads slipped through the cracks between initial inquiry and scheduled visit.
From 300 leads to 1,500 in four years
Genesis’s lead engine expanded dramatically over four years. What started as a website that barely converted became a patient acquisition system that scaled with the clinic.

The Redesign
From brochure site to booking engine
Genesis’s old site was structurally weak in the ways healthcare websites often are. Dense text where patients needed clarity. Buried booking paths where the CTA needed to be persistent. Generic hero content where the value proposition needed to be specific.
The new site was rebuilt around one question: what would help a person considering mental health treatment decide to make the call?
Why This Matters For Healthcare Practices
Patient acquisition is not a marketing problem. It is an operations problem.
Most healthcare websites are built by designers who never talk to a patient. That is why so many of them look modern and convert poorly. Beautiful photography. Vague CTAs. No visible booking path. A design language that signals wellness without doing the operational work of getting a patient to the calendar.
The clinics that grow are the ones that treat the website like part of the operations stack, not part of the brand collateral. That means measurable conversion paths, CRM handoffs that route leads to the right person, follow-up cadences that catch the leads no one had time to answer, and content that answers the questions patients actually ask.
Genesis grew from 300 leads to a projected 1,500 not because the website looked better, though it does. They grew because every part of the patient journey was rebuilt as a system.
Strategic takeaway
A website that generates leads is not the same as a system that generates patients.
Genesis proved what happens when a mental health clinic treats its digital presence as infrastructure instead of marketing. Four years of compounding growth. TMS leads up more than 40x from baseline. A patient acquisition system that keeps working while the clinical team focuses on care.
